Sermons About Pentecost
The Sermon Heard Round The World
There are three reasons why God so powerfully blessed Peter's inaugural sermon at Pentecost. It was bible-based, Christ-centered, and application-aimed. Peter's sermon sets an example of how to deliver the gospel message and we can pattern our proclamations of the gospel after Peter's so that we can be powerful witnesses for Christ.

Walk On or Walk Away (The Savior meets grumblers of God's grace)
Jesus not only says that he is the Bread of Life, but he also says that he is the Son of Man -- both have eternal significance! "Eternal significance" is also the description of God's grace! Grace begins there and ends there -- why do people grumble about this?

In English, Please
“…we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” Acts 2:11b On the day of Pentecost, the Spirit comes and drives Christ’s followers out to share the Gospel and enables them to communicate it across cultural divides. Likewise, we are called and empowered by the Spirit to go out into the world at our steps as missionaries and communicate the Gospel across cultural boundaries, making its message as clear and as powerful as possible.

Something More Important than Just Plain Old Motherhood
In the Christian year, Pentecost Sunday is the day which remembers the coming of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2). But more than that, it celebrates the work of the Spirit in our lives today. The Holy Spirit is not an “it” but a person of the Trinity. He draws us to Christ. He convicts us of sin. He persuades and enables us to believe. He unites us with Christ and mediates the presence of Jesus to us, bringing all the benefits of salvation to our souls. He gives gifts. He leads. He fills. He comforts. He brings forth spiritual fruit. And the Spirit always seems to throw the floodlight back onto Christ.

Soul Prosperity
We need to live in God’s righteousness, peace and joy on the inside all the time, not just cry out to God for it when we are in a crisis. Our soul is prospering when we are walking in step with Holy Spirit.

Pentecost Explained (Acts 2:14-41)
The coming of the Holy Spirit led to many questions from the people present. What is happening? Why is this happening now? What should we do? In this passage we have the first recorded post-ascension gospel message. Interestingly, this message looks very different from the gospel message that is so frequently preached today.

Pentecost (Acts 2:1-13)
Typically the Holy Spirit is looked at in very systematic, individualistic, and pietistic ways. The biblical revelation of the Spirit is much more communal and missional and this is how we must approach the topic. The coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost was critical for the mission of God's people to proclaim the gospel throughout all the earth.

Now That's a Sermon
Peter preaches on the day of Pentecost and 3,000 are baptized, transformed by God. And as the Christian church is birthed, we see that the emphasis is not on the church as a building, but the church as a fluid, moving body of Christ's followers, dedicated to a singular purpose.

Promises
Are we willing to wait in anticipation of what God has promised rather than demanding we get it now? We live in a "now" culture, where instant gratification is the norm. But Jesus' command to the disciples to simply wait on the Holy Spirit still holds true for us today. Pentecost is only a week away--can we wait that long?
