Sermons About Perseverance
The Battle for the City
Faithfulness to God's plan will lead to opposition from God's enemies. We will grow weary, afraid and discouraged. We can persevere through prayer and preparation when we remember who God is and how Jesus has worked for us, works in us & through us.

Biblical Faith Trusts in the Sovereign Hand of God
Biblical saving faith clings to the truth of the sovereignty of God. In our verse this morning clinging is fleshed out in two ways: 1. Clinging to the truth of the sovereignty of God will cause you to cut across the grain of what society tells you for the truth of what God tells you. 2. Clinging to the truth of the sovereignty of God will cause you to correctly defy ungodly leadership.

He Knows Our Thoughts
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Our Compassionate High Priest. Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

More than Conquerors
With Christ, the only things in this world that can ever defeat us are the things we ALLOW to defeat us. With Christ, we are more than conquerors and nothing can hold us down.

Overcoming Opposition
Acts 4:1-31 tells of the outcome of the miracle by Peter and John when they healed the lame beggar. Peter had shortly before delivered his first sermon (at Pentecost) and when the spreading of the news of Jesus's resurrection, and the miracle carried out by Peter and John became known to the Sadducees, the apostles were taken before the Sanhedrin to account for their preaching of the gospel. However, Jesus had equipped His apostles to expect the persecution they faced. This served as the first persecution that the early church experienced. This account demonstrates that a believer can expect to be persecuted when the gospel is boldy shared with others - when we strive to be faithful to share the gospel. But we should rejoice in knowing that the church is the most amazing and invincible organism ever created by God. In fact, the church has grown as a direct result, and in direct proportion to the amount of persecution brought upon it. Indeed, persecution is all part of God's plan for growing the church.

7 Arenas of Grace: 7. Grace in Suffering
This message is about how to walk in the grace of God during times of testing and difficulty. It is an exhortation to strengthen us during hardship and to learn all the lessons that God is trying to teach us through the circumstances of life. Once we realise that difficulty and hardship are not a form of rejection or condemnation from God but rather that He is trying to train us for our destiny, we begin to see the purpose of God and we can cooperate with His divine plan with joy.
