Keeping Perspective in Suffering (Romans 5:3-5)
As Christians we are to rejoice in our trials and sufferings because 1) they are part of God's agenda for us, 2) God will use them to forge a Christian hope in us, and 3) God will use them to forge a certain hope in us. Though we are tempted to disorientation and despair during times of suffering and trial, we can surely trust in God's promises and love to sustain us through trials, and even to bring a Godly rejoicing and hope in the midst of them.

Rejoice in Suffering
Suffering goes through steps: pain, then anger, then asks "why". The Three Benefits of Suffering are: 1)It Produces Endurance, 2) It reveals Character-makes external whats internal-2 Cor. 4:8-10, 2 Cor 4:16-18, 3) Suffering Gives More Hope.

Living In Suffering
When you become a Christian, there is some ‘fine print’ that is easy to miss. It goes something like this: “God will teach you how to love each other and trust in him through suffering. This serves as proof of his judgment that he makes you worthy to be in his kingdom.†In 1 Thes. 1:1-5, Paul teaches that you are to persevere in loving one another and learn to trust in God through “persecutions and afflictionsâ€. It is by design that you grow through the difficult experiences of your life. This is how God judges you worthy to be part of is kingdom.

5 Ways To Wait
We all hate to wait and yet most of us believe that God is sovereign in His planning and timing. So why do we hate to wait? James 5:7-12 shows us that as believers, we are to wait without worrying, without wavering, without whining, without wondering and without warranting.

2 Samuel 23:1-7 - Last Words Looking Forward
Last words are funny things. Not everyone gets a chance to give them, but David's last words (whether they are what he spoke or his last will and testament, I do not know) are recorded in Chapter 23 for us. The unique thing that differs from other last words in the Old Testament is that David was trying to anticipate the future. It is not a blessing about a person but a prophecy about a kingdom. Chapter 22 looks back upon how Yahweh established the kingdom and chapter 23 looks forward to how Yahweh will consummate the kingdom. David's last words help all of us over come a confidence problem we have with the future and especially Biblical prophecy. Verses 1-7 center around a just ruler that perfectly fears the Lord, which is none other than Jesus Christ Himself, as the Writer gives you 3 characteristics of His final kingdom: Certainty, Attractiveness, and Exclusiveness. As you listen to the sermon I pray that you will start or recommit yourself to see Christ as the center of your confidence in Scripture. May you see Christ as the preeminent figure in your understanding of the future kingdom of God.

Q And A With Dr. Steve Lawson
In an age of water-downed theology and casual Christianity, the church desperately needs to return to the doctrines of grace that shook the world during the Reformation. These grand truths-historically referred to as the five points of Calvinism (TULIP)-form a biblical outline of God's sovereign plan for saving sinners. Sadly, these foundational principles the Bible so clearly teaches about salvation are often misunderstood and misrepresented and as a result are often discredited and dismissed as divisive doctrines, or worse, unbiblical ones. Consequently, many Christians never experience the God-glorifying, Christ-exalting, pride-crushing, gratitude-inducing, worship-inspiring, missions-motivating, evangelism-encouraging, discipleship-promoting, soul-comforting, faith-strengthening, and life-changing effects that occur when one fully embraces the sovereign grace of God.

"Where Are You, God?"
Many people expect God to communicate only through a 'sound and light show' - thunder & lightning, earthquakes, and big neon signs proclaiming "This is My will." The reality is that God is much closer than that.
