Soul Prosperity
We need to live in God’s righteousness, peace and joy on the inside all the time, not just cry out to God for it when we are in a crisis. Our soul is prospering when we are walking in step with Holy Spirit.

American Idol Spirituality
In life, picking favorites seems to come almost naturally. Whether its baseball teams or restaurants, we all have things we prefer. The church in Corinth had preferences too. The problem was that they let those preferences divide them. This ancient church had the modern American Idol mentality when it came to their spiritual leaders. They loved to follow individuals based on their charisma, lineage in the faith and original influence on them. They needed to be reminded that the church was God’s (3:9). These cultural values led to divisions, conflict and immaturity. They also led to an infatuation with teaching styles along the lines of culture's entertainment. This type of favoritism can be a quick killer of spiritual GROWth in our lives because it fosters pride.
