Is It Wrong to Seek Pleasure?
Does Christianity call us to give up our pursuit of pleasure? That's what many of us have been taught. But what we find is that the Scriptures teach that we were made for pleasure. So, we can help but be pleasure-seekers! It's where we direct this desire that makes all the difference.

Ecclesiastes 2
After Solomon's introduction, he proceeds to take us on a journey into everything "under the sun" - all that we pursue in this short life, desperately trying to make life meaningful. His conclusion is that the whole pursuit is a burden, and he begins to despair. In particular, Solomon looks death in the face and realizes that if death ultimately wins, then everything is ultimately vain.

Babylonian Bar and Bistro
Every day followers of Jesus face a myriad of choices that define their citizenship and their loyalties. We walk with a tentative step and live in a constant state of "tension". How can we live IN this Babylonian world, and YET not be poisoned by the waters? Is it possible to sit at the barstool with friends and neighbors who are drinking deeply from the "kegs" of life that offer them power, pleasure, sex, money and fame - and yet be unaffected myself? Greed and Grace
So much time is spent discussing our guilt for doing the things we knew we weren’t supposed to do. But little time is spent with our hearts broken over what He’s called us to do and be for Him. We’ve failed to do what God does and love what God loves. This has caused a great debt that has to be satisfied. If God owns everything, then you’re indebted to Him and Him alone.

The Enemies of Freedom - Galatians #10
What makes the Christian faith like no other? The good news of God’s grace is the bold claim that we are accepted by God not because we “follow the rules” or “fit the mold” but because Jesus gave his own life to rescue us. But many of us are still trying to earn God’s love with our performance rather than living in the freedom that Jesus has provided for us. In Galatians, Paul warns against the danger of religious systems that value people on grounds of accomplishment or status or cultural agreement. These things lock away our freedom in the futility of legalism, moral superiority and cultural arrogance. Focusing on either the racial/ethnic/cultural superiority or the moral successes of good works denies the gospel and divides Jesus’ followers. Join us as we explore how God offers us true freedom in Jesus and how the freedom of Christ transforms our hearts, our minds and lives.
