Trials: the means for spiritual maturity
Everyone experiences times of suffering in their lives. However, how we handle these sufferings and trials in our life will indicate our spiritual maturity. As Christians, we must realize that God intentionally ordains trials (testing) in our lives so that we might ultimately become spiritually mature. And if a believer is in doubt as to how they should respond/react to these trials, then they should ask God believing that He will give them the wisdom necessary to endure through their trials.

They are descriptions, not requirements, to expect when you belong to his kingdom. It starts out, and rightly so, with the poor in spirit. You realize that you are spiritually bankrupt and completely helpless to change your sinful nature. You acknowledge your deplorable and despicable hopeless situation. This drives you to your only hope—the Savior Jesus Christ!

Jesus sees "blessed" differently than us. He says "blessed are the poor." Many times we can live in a bubble that is isolated from Jesus' kind of "blessed."

Man's poverty is basically a relational problem. The cause is spiritual, the results is physical. All the world's poverty started with the broken relationship in the Garden of Eden. Relationship is the only legitimate way to address poverty. It starts with and continues with God and His resources.
