Sermons About Praise
Make a Racket
There is a tendency to think that Christian praise music should be quiet, mellow, and somber but Psalm 150 describes a song to God that is loud, boisterous, and accompanied by all kinds of instruments. We often get praise wrong because we get excited and absorbed with petty things that are not worthy of the devotion we give them. We should instead give our praise and worship to the all-powerful, loving God who is worthy of our devotion because created everything and sent His Son to die in our place on the cross so that we could be reconciled to Him.

Making Known His Worth
Worship is giving glory to the God of all glory who is revealing his glory to all. We see that God is glorious, beautiful, majestic, holy in his person and character; beyond this, everything that he does is done to display, reveal, and showcase his glory. It is a good thing that God is working for his own glory; creation is blessed, and we are blessed, when God seeks his own glory. The proper response for us as we see God's glory is to give glory to him, in worship and praise.

A Life of Praise
What kind of Christian life are you living. Is it one of showing up every times the doors are open, or freeing guilty because you are not always there. Or is your Christian life one of overflowing praise to god because you enjoy who he is?

The Problem with Praise 1
The problem with praise is that it is too rare. We either miss what praise is and limit praise as just fast and loud songs accompanied by emotionalism. Or we have wrong assumptions about praise and think praise is optional, and you are exempt because it is not part of my personality or because you didn’t praise at church where you grew up. In this first sermon of a 3 part series, I address that our praise of God shouldn't be determined by our feelings. That God is worthy to be praised no matter what is going on in our lives.

Needing a Vacation (Psalm 104)
Life is filled with all sorts of landscape. An all terrain faith is equally balanced for the breathtaking view from the mountaintop and the confusing trek though a cold, dark valley. It provides adequate support for walking in rough, rocky stretches and stability for the slippery spots. In this exploration of the Psalms, we will see that no matter where you find yourself in life there is an appropriate faith response to your life situation. Are you ready for the hike?

Observing and Praising the Lord
This psalm, like many places in Scripture, commands us to praise the Lord with joy. This does not mean that we should manufacture an artificial emotional response but that we should observe the majesty of God and His perfect character and then respond accordingly. We sometimes have trouble praising God and this often happens because we haven’t spent enough time observing and meditating on who He is and what He has done for us, especially from what we see in the Bible. When we stop and spend time thinking about how powerful, faithful, trustworthy, and loving the Lord is it will help us to respond to His greatness with fitting words of praise.

The Road to Real Life
We are going to experience pot holes in the road to Real Life. At times the reality of this is trying. Our road to Real Life should be paved with adoration. We are brought by our road to a place of praise for many reasons. Our God is a God of mercy because he gives us a new start. Through Jesus we have the hope of life. His resurrection should cause an erruption of praise. We should praise God for the gift of our indestructible inheritance and his hand of protection. Where does the rubber hit the road of Real Life for you?
