Why Were You Born?
Helmut Thieleke in his book, How the World Began, suggests that before going to a play we ask some fundamental questions: Who is the Playwright? Who is the Chief Actor? What is the play about? But, he suggests, most people step out onto the stage of life without asking these fundamental questions. Psalm 8 tells us what our role on the stage of life is. Emil Brunner says: “The most powerful of all spiritual forces is man’s view of himself, the way in which he understands his nature and his destiny; indeed, it is the one force which determines all the others which influence human life.â€

God's Greater Purposes
Our Redemption or “being set free†comes from the payment a ransom that in this case is the death of Jesus in place sinners. The child of God is not only given freedom from the penalty of sin, but the sin itself is forgotten. Redemption and forgiveness go together. The “seal†for Christians is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not only promised, but is the mark whereby the Christian is marked out as belonging to God and the “guarantee†of that Christian future inheritance. The Holy Spirit is a down payment that guarantees ultimate ownership by God.

To The Praise Of His Glorious Grace
Each one of us has been put here for God’s purpose. God is to be blessed because He has blessed us. God has spoken well of us. He has favored us. He has given us all that we need. He has accepted us freely by Grace. The church in the past has taught us that we have to measure up, but we do not. The spiritual blessings that are given to us in the heavenly place are given to us in Christ. God means know it and to live it wherever we go. God has adopted us all.
