Sermons About Pray
Living the Real Life the Right Way
The right way to Real Life comes through a changed life and a life of love. The key to discovering Real Life through love is asking God to soften your heart. Also remember your need for love and forgiveness and search for love from a power beyond humanity. You must pray for a holy entrance and trust in a holy God. The right way to Real Life is through a cleansed life.

The Origin of the Word of God Part 2: God's Word is truth
I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth

Pray and Do Not Lose Heart
Last week we heard of the great and glorious day of Jesus’ return. It is a day when He will come to judge and wage war, pouring out His vengeance upon His enemies as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. It will be a day of reckoning. He will make all things wrong, right, for He is Righteous and True. He will make every imperfect thing, perfect, as the Great Perfecter of all things. He will make every unclean thing, clean and pure, as the Great Purifier. It will be messy as grapes, vessels of wrath, are tread upon by the Great Victor, Jesus. As the great theologian Johnny Cash says, "God’s Gonna Cut You Down". It will be a long awaited, glorious day for the children of God, as He will make all things new. What do we do, until this great day comes, how do we live in light of this? Jesus answers this question to His disciples in a parable connected to His foretelling of His second coming, His return, when the heavens will be opened and He comes riding on that white horse.

Reaching the Least Reached
It is so easy to be content with the pleasures and treasures we enjoy here in North American culture. The team that went to Mongolia serves as a reminder to each one of us to reach out missionally to those right here in Kelowna, in our country, and around the world. Are you willing to pray, give and go to spread the message of Jesus?

Re: All People
To pray in the name of Jesus is to pray with his heart for all people, to pray without prejudice for whoever who would come to be freed by his ransom.

The Divine Prescription For Spiritual Health - Pt. 2
Do you pray? How much? How long? Does it matter? Does prayer really change anything? The answer is quite clear in James 5:13-18. God not only commands us to pray in His Word but there are specific reasons and consequences which show that prayer is without a doubt, one of the most important things we can do as children of God.

Big Prayers for One Another
Paul's prayer for the Colossians is a beautiful example of the kind of 'big' prayer that we should be praying consistently for one another, a prayer we can only pray in Jesus' name.

"Go Talk to Your Father"
To pray in the name of Jesus is to pray, through God's Spirit, to God as "Abba, Father", coming to him in the love and trust that title makes possible.

Just Ask ... ?
We witness it nearly every day…the sacrifices that good parents make for their children. The financial and time commitments that go into raising healthy kids are HUGE but you seldom hear a parent complain! Jesus points out the best of our traits as earthly parents and then draws a comparison…if this is how good moms and dads look after their children... how much more will your heavenly Father...? How much have we understood about the Father’s generous heart toward His children? Will we trust? Do we believe? Will we be bold enough to ask? Key Passage: Matthew 7:7-12

Love Connection
One truth we unashamedly declare as Christians is that we serve a living God who manifests Himself to us in extraordinary ways. Most often, we have experienced this reality in our prayers. In the Bible, you would find God openly invites His people to encounter His presence and power in their prayers. Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV) 3 'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.' Indeed, if we go to Him, He promises not just to respond, but also allow us to experience supernatural things which we have never experienced before. Can you imagine what you and I can miss if we are not praying?

Making Room
The discipline of fasting is not one that has been widely practiced in evangelical circles but is having a bit of a “renewal” in our generation. More and more we hear people and ministries calling us to times of prayer and fasting. What is this practice all about? Why was it so important to the Jewish community and what can we learn from this discipline? In our text this weekend, Jesus simply assumes that we are a people who fast, and challenges us once again to fast for the right reasons and in the right way. Key Passages: Matthew 6:16-18 and Isaiah 58:6

How Do We Pray?
It almost sounds like a silly question ‒ how do you determine if a prayer is “good” or not? Is it by the number of words (longer prayers are better) or by the particular words we choose (spiritual sounding prayers must be better), or is it the time or day or place that I choose to pray that makes my prayer “good”? Silly, huh!? Yet how many of us have not asked those questions ourselves, or been asked them by others, or wondered about what it was in particular that made prayer powerful, eff ective, and meaningful. We are a people who pray….there is no getting around the fact that in the good times and in the bad…there is something within us that calls us to “talk to God…” But prayer can be a discouraging and confusing venture…. knows what we need before we ask? Key Passage: Matthew 6:5-15

What to Do When You Face Mission:Impossible
When life feels like "Mission:Impossible," it's time to call for outside help. With God on our side, we can walk through life's challenges rather than running away from them. In this sermon, we explore Jacob's prayer for God's help as he faced the seemingly impossible reunion with his brother Esau.

Ive got the victory
Many are facing challenges, sometimes from multiple enemies. We already have the victory. We need to follow the steps of Jehoshaphat to see the Lord work out this victory for us. We need to praise God now, before we see the victory. When our enemies are defeated, we’ll come out with so much spoil, it will take 3 days to gather it all.

Gideon: Mighty man of valor
Summary: Gideon was a man called of God to do great things. He thought so little of himself, and was so filled with doubt and unbelief, but God was patient with him. He was still them man for the job, in spite of his weaknesses. God had a big plan, that he accomplished through a small group of men. (their army went from 22,000 to 300) God had a specific plan that they had to follow in order to be victorious. Ultimately, because he obeyed the plan God gave him, he became what God knew he was all along, the “Mighty Man of Valor”. If we will obey God like Gideon did, even when the plan sounds crazy, we will become what God desires and sees us as already.

Change the World... one life at a time
God has always had a voice! Even in the darkest days of human history, there has been a “faithful remnant” of His people who continued to hope, continued to trust, continued to pray and continued to walk in the steps of the Master. There may be days that we are tempted to give up the fight, to pack in our efforts to see the world become a better place…but today is not that day! As we head into a new calendar year, God is calling us, perhaps like never before to champion and leverage all the resources He has placed in our hands, to be used for the transformation of our world! Are you up for the challenge? Key Passage: Luke 3:4-6

Being About the Heart of Jesus
The final prayer of Jesus in John 17 is a window into the heart of God's Son. It should therefore be the very thing which drives the church forward as God answers that prayer anew in every generation.

The plan of God for us
There is a plan for us. God knows the plan. The plan of God will only be gotten by prayer. What He tells us to do, will work, He’ll bring it to pass. Sometimes, we need to seek advice from others on how to put the plan into practice. In His Presence is the plan that you need. We must commit to the plan, only then will He bring it to pass.

Your Kingdom Come
People come to prayer with their hearts brittle from the burdens and busyness of life. Jesus says to remember to pray about the most important things. Order the priorities of your inner life, so that God can meet you at the level of your greatest needs. When you pray for God's kingdom to come, you are praying that this God who is good and gracious would rule and reign on the earth and in the hearts of men.

Prayer: Pure And Simple
One of the most ancient traditions of Christian faith was to see the Lord's Prayer as a summary of the Christian life and as an important means of teaching Christian spirituality to new converts and believers. This is the prayer Jesus gave us to teach us how to pray. A prayer that not only teaches us how to pray, but also teaches the essentials of spiritual life.

Spirituality and Marriage
For some people marriage can be a big scary word and they hesitate to commit. For other people getting married was the one thing they wanted most. From either view, St. Paul lays down a couple of really important things for married couples in this part of his letter to the Corinthian faith community. Perhaps the most important of those things is the act of putting our partner first.

Care
All of us get lost. Depending on where you live, you may find yourself lost more often than not. Sometimes spiritually we can feel lost too. Whether it’s a broken relationship, a lost job, or just a general sense of spiritual disorientation, these times come for all of us. It’s the feeling that our lives and the world we live in should be perfect, yet they are somehow broken. Jesus is aware that we feel that way and even says in Luke 19:10 that it was his mission on earth to help people who are lost. Jesus cared so much about helping others, yet for us other people often take a back seat to our own interests. In this talk we discuss how prayer can help us connect with God’s heart for people.

Honesty
Coming face to face with God would be a crazy thing. When it happened to Isaiah the first thing he saw was not what he might have expected. For Isaiah, a close encounter with God showed him things he didn’t realize about himself. That realization was one that led Isaiah to immediately seek forgiveness. God then not only forgave him, but he asked for his involvement in something bigger. For us, prayer can be the catalyst for that same kind of experience. When we encounter God in prayer it can be a unique window into our own soul. Whatever we find there we can know that God will not only forgive it, he will forget it and move on.

Joy
John Piper said, "God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him." When we think about prayer, do we ever think about the fact that it’s a way to enjoy God? In fact, God really wants us to enjoy him.
