An Encouraging Word Part 3: The Present Joy
Without using any future verbs, Peter draws a sharp contrast between the present and the future. We, as believers, may be suffering now, but we will soon rejoice. The End Determines the Present
As Christians, knowing what happens at the end of our lives should radically influence our actions in the present. Because we know that one day we will stand before the judgment seat of Christ and give an account for our lives here on earth, we should be all-the-more challenged and motivated to live faithfully for Jesus Christ--by pursuing the welfare of others before ourselves.
