Prophet or Non Prophet?
Ronnie focuses on prophecy and that it is open to the entire church. Don't think of it as foretelling but rather forth telling. The definition of prophecy is speaking what God brings to your mind for strengthening, encouraging and comfort of fellow believers. But as in all things it is vital that any prophecy be weighed and evaluated. He then gives us a checklist of things to use to help us (all of us)n determine what is of God.
What About Tongues & Prophecy?
Ronnie discusses the importance for prophecy over tongues. He uses there overarching principles: 1. Pursue with persistence the way of love; 2. Eagerly desire the spiritual gifts; 3. Eagerly desire the gift of prophecy, prioritizing that particular gift above all others including the gift of tongues. To prophecy is to speak the will of God in an understandable language for the benefit of others. Whereas tongues is a form of prayer and praise you express to God in a language you do not understand.
