Jesus, the Prophet
Luke 13:31-35 With this final section of chapter 13, Luke reaches a turning point in telling the story of Jesus as prophet, declaring that His mission will not be derailed by the opposition of His enemies (Herod), the hatred of Israel's spiritual leaders (Pharisees), nor even wholesale rejection by the nation itself (symbolized by Jerusalem). And the wonderful irony is that the centerpiece of that mission - the Cross - will become the foundation of forgiveness for those who hated and rejected Messiah.

Praying the hard option
Ken Stebbins, Teaching Elder of the Presbyterian Reformed Church in Everton Park, presents the 2nd sermon in our Elijah: Man of Prayer series. In the first of four Family Camp messages, we learn that Elijah prayed in tough times and chose tough options: "he prayed earnestly that it would not rain." Elijah was not afraid to confront society with its rebellion against God.
