Act(s) XVIb - Scene IV, V, and VI
Acts chapter 16 concludes with the account of Paul and Silas encountering the servant girl possessed by a spirit of fortune-telling (and some unscrupulous businessmen as well) and Paul speaking deliverance to her by the Spirit of God. This account is rich with lessons concerning God's Sovereignly ordering our steps, even when it may look like we have missed Him. We learn how we should respond in the midst of a crisis or time of adversity. And we are reminded of a simple grasp of a simple message. This sermon concludes with a brief look at the apostle Paul, not so meek and mild.

Reformation Sunday - John Newton: A Life Of Amazing Providences
Why spend Reformation Sunday learning about John Newton? Although he is not as well known as some of his contemporaries, the man was influenced by great men of God and in turn God used him to influence a younger generation of great men of God.

The Attitude of Prayer
"The Lord's Prayer" was never intended to be recited over and over without meaning (because the heart is not right). It is a guide of the intensity we HAVE to pray. We have to pray persistant and unrelenting, to the point of being annoying. (from a human standpoint, as God cannot be annoyed) This is what Jesus shows us how to do with "The Lord's Prayer", until God answers our prayer.

When You Pray
How much time did you spend this past week, on your knees, in earnest prayer? May this be the reason that the church today is in the state it is? Jesus said: "and WHEN you pray"; (not if you pray). As believers we are EXPECTED to pray on our knees, humbling ourselves before our God by ourselves.

Act(s) X and XI - Scene I, II, III, IV
It was time for God to take His revival to the next level and bring the gospel to the Gentiles. First He needed to make some adjustments in Peter so He could be used in the process. Peter's visit to the House of Cornelius is the focus of this message and the lessons learned that are applicable to the church today.

Nehemiah (#5): Providence & Progress
In Nehemiah 4:1-23 the rebuilding of the wall continues and the people begin to tire and face even more intense opposition. This time though it moves from mere words to the threat of actual violence. From this chapter we can learn much from how Nehemiah wisely motivates and leads his people, and how progress, even under God’s providence, is painful.

Act(s) IX - Scene I, II, III
Understanding the basic elements of conversion is a must when engaging with a generation of people who desperately need an encounter with Jesus Christ. An examination of the conversion of Saul of Tarsus is a valuable exercise in this quest. Along with the Valiant Ananias and the miracle working Peter, this is a look at this drama played out in history almost 2000 years ago.
