Sermons About Psalms
The Kiss of Peace
At Santa Margarita Community we desire to bring beauty to our community through celebrating our life together and blessing them with the presence of Christ in us...the Psalms describe that satisfied life like a tree that drinks its fill. A beautiful life is a believing life. The emotional intensity of Psalm 85 calls us to believe and to continue believing, to be converted and to be reformed. Do you believe today? Is that belief as fiery as it was on day one?

The LORD is my Shepherd
1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Sacred Psalms: Psalms 119.129-136
Coleman Ford is our teacher today. He has been married to his beautiful and talented wife, Alex, since 2008. He currently attends Dallas Theological Seminary where he is working towards a Masters in Theology. He likes oatmeal raisin cookies and good coffee, preferably at the same time. He will be teaching from Psalm 119.129-136. Do you hunger after God's word? Are you amazed by His commands? In a day when the Bible is reduced to myth and mere fables, do you view Scripture as the very breath of God? The writer of Psalm 119 reveals to us how deep our love for His Word should be, and the sacred wonder of God's glorious commands.

Jesus: Our King of Ascent
Where do you turn when things don’t go the way you expect or want? Where do you turn when everything seems to be going your way? What we often fail to realize is the place we turn in difficult or abundant times is really a deeper expression of where our true affections lie. In other words, the object of our worship is revealed. In this message, we will look to Jesus, and explore His attributes as King.

Sacred Psalms: Psalm 115
Scott Berthel is our teacher today. He is married to Sally and looking forward to celebrating their 22nd anniversary this summer. Together they have two daughters, Isabella and Elleanna. As a family, they enjoy traveling, cooking, reading, and playing together. They have lived in Carrollton for four years after moving from Michigan, and joined The Ridge Church three years ago. Scott serves as the Assistant Head of the Middle School at Trinity Christian Academy in Addison. He will be starting our Sacred Psalms series by teaching Psalm 115 and challenging us to consider the way all of the 150 Psalms can help to shape our worldview. Psalm 115 is an excellent example of a Psalm that offers important components of a God-centered worldview as it helps us understand more about who God is, the purpose He gives us in this world, and our human tendency to create idols as a mistaken form of response to God and His gifts.

Worship in the House of the Lord
Why should Christians be excited to gather with the church? Why should Sunday mornings, when the church traditionally gathers together, be the highlight of the week for Christians? In this sermon, we look at Psalm 122 to find why Christians are glad to "go" to church.
