This study looks at the calling, the qualifications, and the roles of a Pastor.
Few things are more important for a church than having qualified and godly leaders. Titus 1:5-9 teaches us that church leadership is essential and in all appearances it should reflect Christ. Our guest preacher on June 24 was Todd Burus who will be leading a new church plant in Charlestown beginning in the fall of 2013.
Would you say that the church is open to “anyone”? Do we always buy into the notion that the church should be for just “anyone”? If it was required, would we be open to making some necessary changes so that others could experience the church as being open to “anyone”?
Mary lived in poverty and obscurity, yet she had the honour to be the mother of the Jesus,the Saviour. The virgin birth was impossible by man's standards ,but fully possible for God. Like Mary we were not born to be normal people. When you have God in you you cannot be ordinary.
No matter how tough or strong we are in the world, that strength will never enable us to do battle in the spiritual world. Victory is when we fight a battle God's way.
Leadership is all about influence. Spiritual leadership is all about becoming a person of gospel influence. How does my life impact others toward the gospel? Many of feel un- or under- qualified to lead people spiritually. But how are we viewing our qualifications. Do we see what God sees? Listen to how God choose David to lead his people and consider what kind of influence you are on the people God has placed in your path.
In growing to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, we must strive to know and keep His word, His commandments. HTrough the Holy Spirit God outlines certain qualifications, objectives for which we should all strive.
