Sermons About Rejoicing
Rejoicing in Suffering
Suffering is to the Christian life what fire is to gold. Just as the fire burns away all the impurities in gold, so suffering burns away all the impurities in our faith, exposing our weakness of faith, our sin, and our lack of belief in God. While no suffering is joyful in the moment, because of our hope of heaven and our faith in God, we recognize that suffering is actually helpful to us, and we can rejoice in it. Today, in 1 Peter 1:6-9, we find a great encouragement for times of suffering in our lives. Suffering is not a time to run, or a time to relapse. It is a time to rejoice that our great God loves us enough to purify us and prepare us for our eternal home in heaven.

Psalm 126 : The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of
We all have dreams – and I don't mean the kind of crazy things you might dream about when you are sleeping – I mean your waking dreams – the mental picture of how you want things to be in the future - and those dreams are made of something – they might be made of the wrong things but we all have them. And sometimes those dreams become reality and we find ourselves struck with amazement and say things like “I can't believe this...Somebody pinch me.” The kinds of dreams I am talking about are dreams which can be characterized by 2 words: hope and vision. What I want us to do is two things: (1) Evaluate our dreams and see what they're made of, (2) Begin to dream kingdom dreams, to look to the Lord to make them reality and to commit ourselves to actively making them a reality.

Living in Rejoicing
To live with an attitude of rejoicing, independent of life’s circumstances, is a mandate given to you as a believer. It is not an ‘add-on’ to your Christian experience but your main Christian experience. You rejoice because of who you are and what you have. You are one who has been chosen by God, born again and being sanctified by the Holy Spirit. What you have is an incredible inheritance—eternal life with Jesus—that is imperishable, undefiled, and will not fade. It is God’s will that you rejoice amidst trials and tribulations as “proof of your faith”.

Big Brother: In the Family Business
When Jesus was criticized for spending time with "unsavory characters" He responded with three parables -- demonstrating that God seeks out the lost, the lost are highly valued by Him, and that their return brings celebration. This has crucial implications for both those who are far from God and those who are comfortably within his family. . .
