The Story of Us: We Value Relationship with our Community
As a local church, we value our relationship with our community as essential to our identity. John the Baptist provides a good example of someone who saw himself in relationship to his mission. Because he was sent by God, he knew who he was and he knew what to do. John identified himself as one sent by God and that gave him both an identity and mission.

My Soul Clings To You; Your Right Hand Upholds Me
One Scholar who wrote about Psalm 63 said that what verse 8 shows us is that between David and God there exists a “reciprocal relationship of active love". Now isn't that an amazing thing! Transform...in Him
Last week we learned that like Moses our past can prevent us from experiencing the transforming power of God. Another hurdle or obstacle of being transformed is, we simply do not know God. You may think you know Him. You may even try to follow certain rules or commands in order to live a “good†enough life. But do you really know Him in a personal way? Is your life characterized by a transforming relationship with God? Or is it a struggle to behave a certain way, fueled by guilt in order to win His favor? This week we will see what is not only at the core of transformation but also at the heart of God.

The Story of Us: We Value Relationship with God
We have been created in the image of a Triune God. We reflect His communal personhood as three in one. Though damaged by sin, our lives are daily polishing that likeness so that we provide a more faithful picture to the watching world. As a local church, we value our relationship with God as most fundamental to our identity. John the Baptist provides a good example of someone who saw himself in light of that relationship.
