God is faithful to provide for His covenant people. God is the owner of all and giver of all good gifts to His people. This one day feast, the Feast of First Fruits, acknowledges God's faithfulness, His ownership of all and His tangible blessings to His people. Therefore, we, like the Israelites, should offer God a gift of praise.
Grace (in theology) is defined as the unmerited favor of God. If so, then the grace of Giving is more about the obedience of giving than it is about the sacrifice involved in giving. In other words, to “excel in the grace of giving” as Paul admonishes us, we must understand this fundamental Christian practice from God’s perspective. Therefore, to excel in the grace of giving we must know and do the following: 1) You must RELEASE your gifts. 2) Allow others to RECEIVE your gifts. 3) God will REPLENISH your gifts.
