Life Under God
The essence of religion is “I obey therefore I am accepted”. People often approach God on this basis and yet this is not what Jesus taught. Life WITH God is based on the “good news” that the victory is won and we can have relationship WITH God on this foundation. However we often still revert back to living life UNDER God and relate to Him by looking through the ‘religious lens”. How do you know if you are religion centered or gospel centered?

Politics, Money & Religion: Religion
Everybody knows there are three things you don’t talk about at the dinner table: Politics, Money, and Religion. When in polite company, these polarizing topics are considered “off-limits.” Surprisingly, Jesus often deals directly with these issues. Politics, Money, and Religion have a nasty way of making us think only in extremes: “liberal vs. conservative” “rich vs. poor” “godly vs. godless.” But what if the New Testament offers a different way of thinking? When Jesus speaks about the Kingdom of Heaven, he reveals a reality that upsets our comfortable “us vs. them” mentality. Join us as senior pastors Paul Basden and Jim Johnson explore what it means to have a Kingdom mindset during our 3-week series Politics, Money & Religion.
