Why Bother?
Why learn to study the Bible? Can't I just find a passage and find the meaning for "me?" This sermon highlights reasons why it is important to study God's Word. This is done through illustrating how principles of language and communication can greatly impact the meaning of some well known verses.

Biblical Repentance 10 - All of Grace and All for the Glory of God
My purpose in preaching this passage is to show you and remind you that redemption is an act of God by the grace of God and for the glory of God. Redeemed humans will receive the blessings of God in salvation but we will receive none of the glory. We are recipients of God’s grace and in that we will bring God glory but we will be forever in awe of the glory of God in eternity. So we might as well grow accustomed to that right now.

Jesus is Not Your Homeboy (Exodus 3)
If faith in the gospel transforms us......why don't we obey Jesus?? 1.) We need to know who we are dealing with! Jesus is God and our God is a consuming fire! 2.) We need to know who we are! We are all sinners saved by grace and it is by that grace that we are consumed in the fire! 3.) Take your doggone shoes off! Draw near to God and be afraid! 4.) Let know who have ears......listen!

Biblical Repentance 9 - The Outworking of Sanctification
This morning from Psalm 51:13-15 I want you to see two deeds or fruits that are proof of repentance and ongoing sanctification. 1. The proof of repentance and ongoing sanctification is marked out by a life of continual study and evangelism. 2. The proof of repentance and ongoing sanctification is marked out by a life of continual praise.

Biblical Repentance 8 - The Miracle Needed for Sanctification 2
The reason I am preaching this passage this morning is two fold. I want to press on you the understanding that sanctification will always follow justification. Second, I want all of us to have a firm understanding that we are never left to ourselves to sanctify ourselves. We must rely completely on God and allow Him through the work of the Holy Spirit to lead us into more and more holiness not so that we can look at ourselves but rather so He can use us as He sees fit. Sanctification will never please the flesh. Sanctification will never make you comfortable. Becoming like Christ who learned obedience through what He suffered will often leave us scratching our heads and wondering what the Lord is doing. But what He is doing is making us holy.

Biblical Repentance 7 - The Miracle Needed for Sanctification
In Psalm 51:10-12 David gives six actions that the Lord must accomplish for our sanctification. I will not try to cover all six today but will attempt to cover the first two from verse 10. Let me give these two actions that the Lord must accomplish for our sanctification from verse 10. 1. The Lord must give us a heart transplant. 2. The Lord must give us a renewed spirit. The reason I am going to camp out here for a while is because of the great misunderstanding in our day regarding salvation and sanctification. There are those who believe that one can be saved and never have any evidence of sanctification at all.
