Learn from Me, for I Am - Continued
Palm Sunday message about the meekness of Christ. Meekness is the disposition that strips away everything in your life that stands between Gods purpose and the world around you, through you. And what are those things that corrupt the simplicity in Christ. Your rights and your possessions. Thats one reason why there are so many Christians who are satisfied to marvel at Jesus from afar, but unwilling to truly follow Him. It’s a trust issue

Rest is an Inside Job
“RUNNING ON EMPTY†Rest is an Inside Job Scripture: Matthew 11:28-30 Isaiah 40:11; 30-31 “It does not differ with me whether I am in prayer or hearing the noise and clutter of my kitchen, while several persons are at the same time calling for things, I possess God in as great tranquility as if I were upon my knees.†Stated by Brother Lawrence in The Practice of the Presence of God over 200 years ago 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.†JESUS OFFERS THREE SOLUTIONS. 1. “Come to Me†2. “Take My yoke upon you†3. “Learn from Me†WHY ARE THESE SOLUTIONS SUCH A BIG DEAL? 1. Why come to Him? Because you will find rest for your soul! 2. Why take His yoke? Because it will be the best fit for you. 3. Why learn from Him? Because you will learn how to rest while working. TWO POWERFUL SYMBOLS THAT BRING HOPE FOR US CHANGE. (Isaiah 40:11; 30-31) 1. He tends His flock like a Shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to His heart. He gently leads those that have young. 2. Those who wait upon the Lord will soar like eagles and never grow weary

Hurried Sickness: Causes and Cures
“RUNNING ON EMPTY†Hurried Sickness: Causes and Cures Scripture: Luke 12:15-21 Mark 6:30-32; 45-46 Hurried sickness is a pattern of going too fast and doing too much for too long that leaves you feeling physically emotionally, relationally, spiritually exhausted and empty. Three illusions that lead to hurried sickness: 1. The quick and easy illusion-things in life should be quick and easy. 2. The illusion of moreism -more stuff will make us more happy. 3. The illusion of control -we are in control of our lives and our future Three confusions that lead to hurried sickness: 1. The urgent overshadows the important. 2. The temporary becomes a substitute for the eternal. 3. Activity replaces intimacy. Four quick and easy steps for conquering hurried sickness: 1. Practice the spiritual discipline of slowing. (Tip: leave earlier). 2. Build rest and recovery time into your schedule (Tip: schedule your priorities). 3. Reduce, discard and simplify. (Tip: turn off the TV). 4. Review your priorities. (Tip: annual retreat for personal reflection).
