Most people want to go to heaven but just not right now. Why is that? Maybe because heaven sounds like a boring place. But if we examine the biblical picture of heaven, we will discover that nothing could be further from the truth.

Risk Takers
With all the volatility in the markets this week, one of the last words anyone wants to hear is “RISKâ€! The Bible tells us God promises His children security, peace, and assurance. Yet, it is clear that Jesus values risk. After all, He said…â€For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.†(Matthew 16:25). Is this a contradiction? Or, is it possible to have peace WHILE losing our life for the King and His Kingdom?

She rejoices over his deliverance, rests in his control, trusts in his knowledge of her situation, and hopes in God’s plan. We are encouraged to do all those things as well, but the focus of the passage is the “anointed one,†Jesus Christ.

Rest Amidst Unrest
Nebuchadnezzar in his impulsiveness has just declared all wise men of Babylon be executed because they could not retell him his dream. But amidst the harsh decree, we find Daniel is calm during these difficult circumstances. We all go through difficult times but Daniel had it bad; conquered and an alien and about to be executed. His calmness was rooted in his understanding of rest in God.
