Belief Basics
Belief will make the impossible possible in your life!
What God Means by Faith
Faith is believing what God says and living like we believe it.
No Regrets
Jesus tells a story about accountability before a king in order to illustrate that all people will give an account before Jesus. As in the parable, Jesus went away, but He will return as a conquering King. When He left, He entrusted His servants with a task (and the resources they need to carry it out). There are also many people on the earth who are His unreconciled enemies. When Jesus returns, His faithful servants will be rewarded, His unfaithful servants will experience rebuke and loss, and His unreconciled enemies will perish. While this parable serves as a warning for all people to be reconciled to Jesus, its focus is on Jesus' followers that we might invest faithfully the resources He has entrusted to us for the gospel mission. So, ask yourself, "What has God given me? How am I investing it in the gospel? How could I invest more?"
Oops! I am Supposed to do What to My Enemies?
If we are committed followers of Christ we have to love our enemies; do good o all who hate us; bless those who curse us and pray for those who mistreat us. This is NOT optional. This is how we are different from the world. This is striving to be like Christ.
Drift - Think Long
Following Jesus is a long Journey. The scriptures remind us not to quit too soon. To keep taking small steps toward the path God has called us to. And eventually we will find our reward. Small Steps + Consistency + Time = Radical Difference
Trusting God Is Worth It
Trust is a critical component in our relationship with God. Since God alone makes salvation possible, you MUST trust God for salvation. Since God rewards sacrifice for His Kingdom, you CAN trust Him with your sacrifice. It is not easy, but it is worth it.
At the Line
Justin Norden, Director of Discipleship at WCC, brought this end of the year message entitled "At the Line." This message from Philippians 3:12-14 challenges us to view our past, present and future through the lens of God's Word and direction.
The Story-Judgment
Following the return of Jesus is judgment for all people. For some it means reward and praise, for others it will mean punishment.
