That Is What He Gets
Ever have a car fly past you only to see them pulled over a mile or two down the road? How did you feel? For most of us there is something very satisfying about that. Generally, we like to see people got what they deserve. This is perhaps one of the greatest difference between ourselves and God. Our heart inclines toward judgment, his heart inclines toward mercy. Key Verses: Jonah 1-4, Luke 15, Matt 20:1-16, John 3:16, 1Tim 2:3-4, 2Pet 3:8-9, Matt 28:18-20, Matt 9:9-13

Am I Right About This?
God’s word says that His ways are not our ways. This is a truth that we all acknowledge, yet somehow fail to put into practice. The result is a way of living and doing that feels right, but is often far outside of God’s will. Unfortunately, we are absolutely blind to this until we get ourselves alone with God. Only in His presence do we learn how close or how far from the truth we are living. We must go there. Key Verses:Matt 5:21-24, 18:15-17, 18:21-35, 6:14-15, 1Cor 6:1-7

Bouncing Back From A Crisis
The life of Joseph, found in Genesis, supplies us with a biblical example of how to bounce back from a crisis. We discover that doing right things as God defines right and resilience are intricately intertwined. We need to keep trusting God, pursue God's purpose for our lives and we need to let go of our anger. By doing these things when a crisis happens in our lives, we can be resilient and bounce back.

Nothing But The Truth
"You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free"...in this day and age it's getting hard to tell how many people remember exactly what truth is. Right and wrong can only be determined by truth and truth is based on God's word. Without God and the Bible, right and wrong just becomes a matter of personal opinion.

"It's Time We Get This Right" - A Study on Sanctified Sexuality
Part 13 "It's Time We Get This Right" Romans 1:24 & 25 Sanctified sexuality comes when we: 1. Recognize the different stances people take with regard to sex: * Playboy's stance. * The prude's stance. * The proper stance. 2. Realize what the Bible says about sexual immorality. Paul states that our decline into sexual immorality: * Reflects God's settled position towards humanity's sin. * Deepens when we cultivate sinful pleasures of the heart. * Results in shameful practices that dishonor our bodies. 3. Respond with biblical steps that will bring praise to God: * If you are single, remain celibate until marriage. * If you are married, celebrate sex with your spouse. * If you struggle with sexual temptation, ask God for the strength to conquer it.

Living Upside Right in a Upside Down World
In our world we often associate greatness with such things as fame, fortune and influence. The icons and heros of our culture - those whom we esteem and look up to are often athletes, actors and artists. The kingdom of God is radically different for in Matthew chapter 18, Jesus turns our understanding of greatness on its head. In Jesus' mind we are greatest when we humble ourselves like that of a helpless little child. How countercultural! How subversive! Yet, how true for us today! Key Passage: Matthew 18:1-9

Right or Wrong
What would happen if we had no laws? What would happen if everyone simply set their own standards and own agendas for what was right and wrong? Could society survive? Judges 21:25 says: "There was no king in Israel, and everyone did as he saw fit." Our North American culture is not too far removed from that statement. We are told that "no one can tell us how to live;" that our choices and preferences are simply private matters of conscience and that no one has a right to "legislate morality." But where will such thinking take us? Romans tells the story of people who cast off the restraint of God's law, and the chaos that ensued. We would do well to learn from their example. But here's a difficult question: Do we have the right or responsibility to enforce our view of right and wrong on anyone else? Key Passage: Romans 1:18-32
