Becoming a Person of Risk & Action
Throughout October and November we will be studying the book of Nehemiah in a series called "Nehemiah: Becoming a Person of ______." This series will look at different characteristics exemplified by Nehemiah as he rebuilt Jerusalem's walls following the Israelites' Babylonian Exile. This week, Pastor Dave Robinson teaches about becoming a person of risk and action. We learn about Nehemiah as a "change agent" - one who initiates timely and appropriate change in light of needs at hand for the glory of God and a fruitful harvest. Dave encourages us to become change agents, making a difference and multiplying our lives.

Risk Takers
With all the volatility in the markets this week, one of the last words anyone wants to hear is “RISK”! The Bible tells us God promises His children security, peace, and assurance. Yet, it is clear that Jesus values risk. After all, He said…”For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” (Matthew 16:25). Is this a contradiction? Or, is it possible to have peace WHILE losing our life for the King and His Kingdom?

Enjoy the Water
Faith in Jesus is not just a personal relationship we have with Him. It's having the courage to join Him where He is, to step out of our comfort zones and join Him in doing the things He does. Faith is risky and requires courage, but Jesus can be trusted regardless of whether our courage holds up or not.
