Becoming a Person of Risk & Action
Throughout October and November we will be studying the book of Nehemiah in a series called "Nehemiah: Becoming a Person of ______." This series will look at different characteristics exemplified by Nehemiah as he rebuilt Jerusalem's walls following the Israelites' Babylonian Exile. This week, Pastor Dave Robinson teaches about becoming a person of risk and action. We learn about Nehemiah as a "change agent" - one who initiates timely and appropriate change in light of needs at hand for the glory of God and a fruitful harvest. Dave encourages us to become change agents, making a difference and multiplying our lives.

Although Jerusalem's walls had been broken down for nearly 150 years by the time Nehemiah heard the news, his passionate reaction and subsequent prayer set the stage for significant action. Nehemiah's example should challenge us to be people of passion who stand in the gap of problems that exist in the world today.

Becoming a Person of Burden
Throughout October and November we will be studying the book of Nehemiah in a series called "Nehemiah: Becoming a Person of ______." This series will look at different characteristics exemplified by Nehemiah as he rebuilt Jerusalem's walls following the Israelites' Babylonian Exile. This week Dave Robinson teaches about becoming a person of burden. Before Nehemiah acted, he allowed God to burden him with a need: the destroyed walls and burned gates of Jerusalem. Studying Nehemiah's example, Dave asks: "what makes you weep and pound the table?" or, "what burden or problem is yours to help solve?"
