We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ
I guess it won’t surprise you that Christians believe in the Lord Jesus Christ – after all, he is the one we are meant to follow – a Christ-ian = follower of Christ. What may surprise you is that although Jesus is well respected all over the world, his followers aren’t. “It’s not Jesus I have trouble with – it’s the church”. So as we say “we believe in the Lord Jesus” – we also ask how we can emulate him more and more. In this series we’re attempting to grasp a whole picture in a few summary words. Pages have been written about Jesus; here is our précis: We believe .. The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life in obedience to the Father. He taught with authority and all his words are true. On the cross he died in the place of sinners, bearing God's punishment for their sin, redeeming them by his blood. He rose from the dead and in his resurrection body ascended into heaven where he is exalted as Lord of all. He intercedes for his people in the presence of the Father. We don’t have Jesus here with us on earth; we have someone better – his Holy Spirit who takes up residence in every true believer. But we would never have him, had not Jesus personally come here and completed his God-appointed work. That’s why we are worshippers of Jesus; that’s why he’s the kingly ruler of all his followers. And that’s why you and I must proudly take his name all over the world.

The Gospel is...
The goal of the Gospel is to create a Christ-treasuring community that is empowered by the Gospel for purpose of mission together. It is how God has chosen to show off His glory and make His grace known to our hurting and broken world. Lets look at the gospel and then start to talk about it’s implications for our shared lives. “Jesus Christ, God’s promised Rescuer and Ruler, lived our life, died our death and rose again in triumphant vindication as the first fruits of the new creation to bring forgiven sinners together under His gracious reign as His Kingdom People.”

A Christian Response to the Presidential Election
Elections come and go but life goes on. Politicians come and politicians go, but Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Presidents are elected to rule, but the True Ruler of the universe is still sovereign and in charge.

2 Samuel 23:1-7 - Last Words Looking Forward
Last words are funny things. Not everyone gets a chance to give them, but David's last words (whether they are what he spoke or his last will and testament, I do not know) are recorded in Chapter 23 for us. The unique thing that differs from other last words in the Old Testament is that David was trying to anticipate the future. It is not a blessing about a person but a prophecy about a kingdom. Chapter 22 looks back upon how Yahweh established the kingdom and chapter 23 looks forward to how Yahweh will consummate the kingdom. David's last words help all of us over come a confidence problem we have with the future and especially Biblical prophecy. Verses 1-7 center around a just ruler that perfectly fears the Lord, which is none other than Jesus Christ Himself, as the Writer gives you 3 characteristics of His final kingdom: Certainty, Attractiveness, and Exclusiveness. As you listen to the sermon I pray that you will start or recommit yourself to see Christ as the center of your confidence in Scripture. May you see Christ as the preeminent figure in your understanding of the future kingdom of God.
