Four Women With Help For Mothers
Motherhood isn't always glamorous. In fact, many women see it as the last thing they want to do with their lives. But for the mother who raises happy, productive kids, she knows it's the most rewarding role in her life. Within the character of a godly mom, you'll find a great capacity for physical, mental, and spiritual nurture. Today, I want to share with you three lessons we can learn from four godly mothers in the Bible.

Wondering About the Resurrection
As Hannah deals with the anguish of a hopeless life, she is driven to pour out her pain-wracked heart before God. God hears her cry, and she is granted the desire of her heart, but only because she re-centered her life by putting God first. Hannah’s cry invites us to follow her into the presence of God with our own heart cries, and it calls us to search our own hearts to make sure that there is nothing in our lives that we are putting before God.

Weaned to Worship
A special concentration on those who have been recently "weaned" being brought to the Temple. Pastor preaches on Samuel and his willingness to say, "Speak Lord, for thy servant hears," and the important job of parents to put their children in an environment where they can hear the voice of God.

Listen!
Acts 16:5 is the end of a passage about Paul, Silas, and Timothy traveling through what is now modern-day Turkey, preaching the good news of Jesus Christ and telling the Gentiles of those towns that the good news was not only for the Jews, but also for them and for everyone. It concludes, so the churches were strengthened in the faith and increased in numbers daily. Salem Presbytery hopes all the churches in our bounds will be strengthened in faith and will increase in numbers, as well. Your Session hopes this for Springwood. It happens that this process of transformation fits like a glove with the Session’s proposal in December to “grow Springwood deep and wide.”

Listening for God's Calling
We worship a seeking and searching God who desires to have a living and vital relationship with people. God will go to great lengths to communicate with us, but the question is: are we listening? God's call came to Philip and Nathanael, who listened to and followed Jesus. God's call comes to us as well as the Lord invites all his baptized people to listen and respond, to follow where he is leading. That call may come when we least expect. That call may take us to places we would never have imagined. That call may stretch us beyond anything we thought ourselves capable of. But the same Lord who calls us also promises to be with us and strengthen us to live out that calling.

Remembering
Its always appropriate to take time to remember the Lord's dealings with you, but especially so at the end of the year.
