Sermons About Sanctification
Act Like a Christian, Unless You're Really Not...
The apostle John clearly lays out what is to be expected of a genuine born again believer of Jesus Christ. We are called to obedience of the Lord Jesus and we are not obedient, perhaps it is a sign that we are genuinely not saved.

We Study So We Don't Forget
Have we forgotten to Whom it is we belong? Paul wrote to "the church" in Thessalonica for a variety of reasons. It could be summarized, as a whole, as a call to "blameless living." In 1:1 and 5:23-28 Paul's focus is on redirecting the Thessalonian Christians to remember they belong to God, they are not alone in their faith, and unity is essential in the body of Christ.

Biblical Repentance 9 - The Outworking of Sanctification
This morning from Psalm 51:13-15 I want you to see two deeds or fruits that are proof of repentance and ongoing sanctification. 1. The proof of repentance and ongoing sanctification is marked out by a life of continual praise.

The Together Life
On the way up to Jerusalem for worship the Israelites sang to each other about how much they valued belong to God and to each other. The believing community is a blessing as valuable as praise, as sanctifying as anointing oil and as nourishing as morning dew.

Biblical Repentance 8 - The Miracle Needed for Sanctification 2
The reason I am preaching this passage this morning is two fold. I want to press on you the understanding that sanctification will always follow justification. Second, I want all of us to have a firm understanding that we are never left to ourselves to sanctify ourselves. We must rely completely on God and allow Him through the work of the Holy Spirit to lead us into more and more holiness not so that we can look at ourselves but rather so He can use us as He sees fit. Sanctification will never please the flesh. Sanctification will never make you comfortable. Becoming like Christ who learned obedience through what He suffered will often leave us scratching our heads and wondering what the Lord is doing. But what He is doing is making us holy.
