1 Thessalonians, Part 7 - 04-07-2013
Paul reminds the Thessalonian Christian to live in a manner that pleases God. It is God's will that you be sanctified, i.e.; that you are living your life according to God's design and purpose.
A Picture of God's Heart
We see such a lovely picture of God's heart through 2 Samuel 9 and the way King David related to Mephibosheth. 50 minutes.
How to Become Perfect - Hebrew 10:1-18
Jesus' willingness to go to the cross and die as the perfect sacrifice for our sins makes those who place their faith in Him makes those believers perfect. The offering by the Lord Jesus makes us perfect in God's sight. With sins forgiven and hearts washed clean believers can enter into the presence of the Almighty God without fear.
The Mirror of God's Love
What do you see when you look into the mirror? God's love, or every stinking blemish you can find? This message is 30 minutes.
Like David
God has graciously confirmed the most recent sermon, again! This is so exciting to me because we have been hearing so many messages about discipline that, at times, it can become discouraging to realize that there really is hard 'work' to our 'rest' in the Lord. This message was specifically given to lift you, to encourage and embolden you. And, as I said, our Lord has again graciously affirmed its accuracy and authenticity. God confirms His Word with signs that follow (like that which was shared with you last week)! 58 minutes.
Do You Not Know?, Part 9
In 1 Corinthians 6:9-20, Paul asks a series of four questions in order to confront and correct the sexual immorality of the Corinthians. The problem with the Corinthian believers was that they didn’t really know the gospel and its implications for their lives, particularly in the matter of sexual immorality. So, Paul's four questions were intended to direct the Corinthians back to the gospel (and it implications), which alone has the power motivate them to flee sexual immorality (v. 18a) and to glorify God in their bodies (v. 20b). Paul's questions are based on the gospel-philosophy, “become what you are.”
