We sin because we have a sinful nature and we give into temptation. The Genesis 3 account of the fall of Adam and Eve provides us with many practicel strategies for dealing with temptation. For example: "Stay away from the tree - If you can't reach it, you can't eat it". God has given us His Spirit to help us deal with temptation. As Christians we live with the hope of heaven where sin and temptation will no longer be issues we have to deal with.
The Olympic Games are crowning athletic champions, but God has called us to be spiritual champions. We said last week that in order to be a spiritual champion, we must realize the seriousness of our Christian commitment. Today, we consider how we must become familiar with our opponent.
