The Book That Cannot Be Bound
Selected Scriptures The Bible remains the most printed book of all time. This is but one evidence of the invincible power of God's Word. In the Book of Acts (vv. 12:24 and 19:20), we see that the Word of God continues to grow and be multiplied and that it grows mightily and prevails in spite of every attempt by men to subdue or quell it. What is it about the Bible that makes it unstoppable, transforming the lives of countless people around the world? Today, Pastor Ramey gives us four reasons why the Bible cannot and will not ever be bound. The Word of God is invincible because of: 1. It's Sufficiency (Psalm 19:7-11; 2 Peter 1:3) 2. It's Efficiency (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Isaiah 55:10-11) 3. It's Potency (Hebrews 4:12-13; Jeremiah 23:29) 4. It's Permanency (Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 24:35; 1 Peter 1:23) Indeed, the apostle Paul wrote just before he was put to death by Nero (2 Timothy 2:9) "for which I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal; but the Word of God is not imprisoned." The Word of God will continue to go forth, in spite of the circumstances of the saints, for God's Word is everlasting. Martin Luther said it well in his famous hymn A Mighty Fortress Is Our God - "The body they may kill, God's truth abideth still, His kingdom is forever." That is why the Word of God continues to spread, to grow, to multiply, and to prevail - not just in your life, no matter how you try to resist it, but also around the world - no matter how much men try to resist it. We are thankful that God provides us with His all-sufficient, all-powerful, eternal Word. Ask Him to cause it to continue to perform its work in you to make you all that He wants you to be and to give you the opportunity and ability to share it with others so they can be all He wants them to be. God's Word is the supreme power to transform men!
