who we are and how we respond to life today. We often compensate for this by performance or pretense, but the reality is that there is no need to either perform or pretend. What is needed is to accept ourselves as God accepts us and to turn for him for guidance and purpose. He made us who we are and he did it for a reason. Overcoming Shame
The world is a tough place. Tougher than we realize sometimes. One of the things it tends to throw at us is a constant barrage of the question, "are you good enough?" Sometimes the answer is yes, other times no. This can lead to an underlying battle with shame, whether we realize it or not. Jesus knew the shame that the world throws at us. He also shows us how to deal with it so we can live victoriously.
