Sermons About Self-righteousness
Unacceptable-Meditations of our Heart -Tamil- Part - I - 06.09.09
Meditations of the heart - there acceptable and unacceptable meditations of heart. Part I we are going to see the unacceptable meditations of the heart - 1. Lucifer said in his heart in Isaiah 14: 12-15 - he lifted himself above God and he was cast down. Whereas in Phil 2:6-9 our Lord Jesus Christ who being in the form of God counted not robbery to be equal with God but made himself of no reputation took the form of man and became a bond servant and humbled himself in obedience to God to the point of his death and God exalted his name above every other name. 2.In Gen 16 Hagar despised her mistress in her heart when she was conceived. This is a spirit of bond woman. we should not be children of Bond woman but children of promise or children born of the spirit not of the flesh. 3. Luke 18:9,10 The Pharisee who prayed within himself boasting about his own righteous which is filthy rags in the sight of God.Whereas the publican openly confessed his shortcoming who was made righteous. 4. Luke 7:37:39 The Pharisee who invited Jesus - said in his heart the woman who touched Jesus was a sinful woman that Jesus if he was a prophet he would have known. He condemning the woman but Jesus in his said to the woman - your faith has saved you , go in peace. We should have the heart of Jesus to lead people to salvation and not a heart of pharisee to condemn people. 5. Luke 12: The rich man said and thought to himself to his soul about the riches that he had earned and saved for himself to enjoy. God rebukes the rich man and condemns coveteousness and says that we should be rich in the Lord.

Living a Life of Gospel Intentionality
Kaleo SDSU is taking a couple weeks to explore what it means and what it practically looks like to be intentional with the gospel through all of life. We will be investigating the book of Mark for insight into how Jesus brought the gospel to every situation and trained his disciples to do the same. We are called not to separate our life into religious, pagan, hobby, service, parenting, work and gospel intentionality but is instead a life that sees the gospel as the motivation and center of all we do.

I'll Be Happy...When I've Done Enough
We all have resumes. What are resumes for? They say to companies and schools, "Here is why you should let me in." The purpose of a resume is to have us go from the outside to being on the inside. The thing is, we all have a resume with God. We have a spiritual resume, filled with accomplishments and works - reasons why God should let us "in." Here, Paul had the best resume possible, and yet he says in the gospel this is all rubbish. What would cause Paul to say something like that? Find out as we study this great passage.

True Spiritual Hunger (Matthew 5:6)
The crowds Jesus was addressing were generally very religiously committed; their very cultural and national identity was defined by their religion. Among them, also, were the extremely committed and in many areas doctrinally sound Pharisees. But what they all have in common is a sense of security and self-sufficiency in their religion. But Jesus is cutting through all of that and addressing the one thing that really matters: the inner realities of the heart. This morning we come to “blessed are those who are hungering and thirsting after righteousness.”

Condemnation or Grace?
In John 8, Jesus continues to make bold statements about Himself, this time hardly saying a word. Jesus responds to the scribes and pharisees who bring to Him a woman caught in adultery by virtually ignoring them. A great example of how to deal with people bent on pointing out the sins of others in order to make themselves look better! More than that, Jesus also gives us the example of His own heart toward sinners. He extends grace and offers restoration to repentant sinners, not based upon an overlooking of sin, but upon His own remedy for dealing with it, the cross. What is your attitude about dealing with sin in others? Are you a pharisee who wants justice for others sins while diminishing your own? Or are you like Jesus who wants to see restoration take place?
