Sermons About Servants
Saints leading saints by serving
We are saints by calling on the way to heaven, by faith in the cross and the power Spirit. We go together, there no such thing as alone in Christianity, alone is foolishness. Together, therefore organization is necessary and there are parts to play so that the organization of the church matches the mission and the message. There are leaders in the church of equals. Real leaders and really equal because we have a common identity and a common mission. Your leaders are saints leading saints by serving.

Elders, Our Shepherds
Our desire is that every member advances in their journey as a Biblical servant leader by realizing and fulfilling God’s calling in their life in the church and community. This will only happen as grasp what the Bible has to say about the nature and scope of the of servant leaders within the church. Over the next four weeks, we will examine the leadership structure that is outlined in the New Testament for the church and how that works itself out here at Harvest Pointe. Ultimately, our hope is for everyone to realize that they are called by God, from the moment of salvation, to play their part in our combined efforts to fulfill the Great Commission and Great Commandment as a church.

Identities: Servants
Fully God–fully human, Jesus took on the posture of a servant. He gave his life, even unto death, so that others could experience salvation, peace and restoration. Jesus said, “I am among you as one who serves…” All those who follow Jesus are called to serve in the same humility. For us this means joyful submission to God and to each other, as we serve whomever God brings into our lives. We do Whatever needs doing, Whenever it’s needed and Wherever it leads us (W3). (Matthew 20:25-28; 25:31-46; John 13:1-17; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Peter 2:16)

Identity: We are Servants
Our Gospel Identities describe who we are as a result of what God has done in Jesus. Rather than talk about the things we ought to be doing as Christians, this series is about what God has done in Jesus and how that changes our Identity. When we say we are servants, we are acknowledging that Jesus is our ransom, paying the price in his life and death to set us free from our slavery to self, sin, and satan. We have been bought with a price and so we are learning to serve Jesus as we serve one another. Because Jesus has served us, we are free to be his Servants.

A Heart for the City
God has a heart for the city as the place for the unfolding of redemption. He works in us to create a heart for the city too. If we have a heart for the city we will hurt with the city, want God for the city, and pray for the city.
