Sermons About Serving
I Long for Change!
In a world that so desperately needs to SEE the tangible expressions of the kingdom of God coming to reign... poverty eradicated, disease cured, wars ended, and relationships restored... we sometimes lose hope. Will we EVER see the powerful sweeping move of God in this way? Reminds me of Habakkuk 3:2 "LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known!" How hungry are we?

Involvement
As we serve we represent Christ in a powerful way, and we grow spiritually. We have been called and commissioned to do something in conjunction with other Christians that we can't accomplish on our own.

Generous Living
Paul communicates that a very real indicator of spiritual maturity is the degree to which we our hearts are generous. If our aim is to become more like Jesus, we must learn to be more generous. In this teaching, Wayne speaks of three signs that our hearts are becoming more generous.

The Church & Serving (Romans 12:1-8)
In this message, J.R. Kerr encouraged us to move from being consumers to contributors, actively involved in living out Park's vision to see lives transformed and the city renewed. Speaking out of Romans 12, he pointed out that our first response to God's grace in our lives should be that of service, working together as the body of Christ to bring God glory. Too often we look to the church to meet our needs instead of offering the gifts and talents we have to contribute to what God is doing through our church.

Living Lives of Consequence
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ gives us confidence that living all out for his purposes will not be a life lived in vain. To live lives of consequence means paying the cost in prayer, giving, and service.

A Generous Community
These days, there is an appetite for spirituality and a distaste for "church." Is this really what God wanted? The church was intended to be a dynamic, life-giving movement of people who experience and extend the love of God together. In fact, Jesus said that you can't be spiritual on your own, that the spiritual life is something we do together. If you catch a glimpse of God's dream for doing life together, we are convinced you'll never want anything less.
