We need to know the devastating toll sexual sin will take on us. Do you want to pay this kind of price? (1 Corinthians 3:16, 17; 6: 16-18) 2. We need to know how serious God takes it when we don’t control our own sexual urges and take advantage of another sister or brother. Are you aware of these consequences? (I Thessalonians 4: 3-7)) 3. We need to nurture the wholesome yearning in life for intimacy (John 15) Most sexual sin is a counterfeit for someone’s search for intimacy 4. We need to act on the power of covenanting with God (Job 31:1) 5. We can enjoy this wonderful, life-giving relationship of knowing our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in us. (1 Corinthians 6:19, 20)

Walking as Children of the Light
We were once children of the darkness because we loved sin and hated for others to see it. Now, as sons and daughters of God, we are children of the light, called to put off the dark sins of sexual immorality and covetousness and be clothes with purity and grace. We will still struggle with sin, but the Holy Spirit is present to expose the dark corners of our lives with the gospel truth of freedom.

Common Struggles of Men
As we examine the following scripture that deals directly with common sins of men it is important that we look at these in light of the Gospel. There is a temptation to read this and think, "I will work to change myself to become these things." But as we understand the Gospel, that we are saved by grace alone, we must we must also come to believe that it is the same Gospel of grace that teaches us to say no to sin. For example, if we struggle with lust, trying to fight the sin is already a losing battle.
