Christmas Conspiracy Week 1: Spend Less
Spend Less - Before you think we’re getting all Scrooge on you, let us explain what we mean. We like gifts. Our kids really like gifts. But consider this: America spends an average of $450 billion a year every Christmas. How often have you spent money on Christmas presents for no other reason than obligation? How many times have you received a gift out of that same obligation? Thanks, but no thanks, right? We’re asking people to consider buying ONE LESS GIFT this Christmas. Just one. Sounds insignificant, yet many who have taken this small sacrifice have experienced something nothing less than a miracle: They have been more available to celebrate Christ during the advent season.

From home to...
Patrice Nagant is the director for church-planting for our Mennonite Brethren Churches in the province of Quebec. You will be inspired today by God's story in Patrice's life, and the exciting work that is happening in Quebec. Quebec represents for us one of the clearest images of the "Samaria" context; literally a nation within the nation, with its own language and customs but most importantly, beautiful people who matter to Jesus! My prayer for this weekend is that you'll be inspired by the partnerships we have in this least reached province of Canada. Acts:1-8

Will You Impact Someone's Life
Will You Impact Someone’s Life? Sharing Christ starts with each one of us! It is the duty of every Born Again Christian to pray for the unsaved. Our neighbors, friends and family! We should pray daily, that God would touch the hearts of those to be saved, to set up that, “chance meeting,†for us to share the happiness of Christ in us. We should pray unceasingly, share the plan of salvation and convert the lost. And lastly, invite others to church for fellowship with like believers.

Intimate
Could someone describe us as a person who is intimate with God? Are we known as someone who listens well to God? Just like any relationship, good communication is essential for intimacy to grow. In fact, Jesus shows us that intimacy is how we know if someone loves Him.

His story...my story...
"Mission is not primarily an activity of the church but an attribute of God. God is a missionary God. It is not the church that has a mission of salvation to fulfill in the world; it is the mission of the Son and the Spirit through the Father that includes the church."(Source: Wikipedia) Evangelism is a key issue that we need to talk about as individuals and as a church family. When you conisder the pendulum of "preaching the story" vs. "living the story", where do you think most of us fall? Key Passage: 1 Corinthians1:21

The Christian's Relationship to the World
What is to be a Christian's relationship to the world? Jesus calls his followers to be salt and light in a word needing the savor of grace, a world lost in the darkness of sin.

Digging Growth
After the resurrection, Jesus has a chance to tell his followers what he feels is most important. It's like the final pep talk before a big game. And what does he say? In all four gospels, though recorded a bit differently in each, the emphasis is the same: go, tell, share, invite, make disciples, baptize, teach obedience, grow the kingdom-grow the church.
