Scripture: Acts 9:36-43; John 10:22-30 Good Shepherd Sunday The Shepherd receives life on Easter, the sheep receive life on Pentecost. Most of us gain understanding of sheep and shepherd from church, where back in Jesus time, people had a more personal understanding. The sheep of Christ follow him. The sheep of Christ hear his voice and follow him. We as the sheep are known by God.
As David thought about his relationship with God, he described it as a sheep's relationship with the shepherd. As believers in Jesus, God is our Great Shepherd as described in Psalm 23.
Our God is a shepherd who guides us, protects us and provides for us. When God is our shepherd, we lack nothing and we fear nothing.
