Sermons About Solitude
Shhh - Be Still - Jesus Needed Time with God - Don't You?
Jesus often withdrew to quiet places to be alone with His Father in heaven. Even though He was busy and lots of people had demands on Him, He knew how crucial it was to spend time alone with the Father. Be encouraged and challenged to take steps to get time alone with God on a daily basis.

Slowing Down
Too often we live in a state of constant hurry, blazing from one task to another. We can literally make ourselves sick living that way. That’s not God’s intention. Jesus and many of his people throughout the generations have modeled another way. Nurturing our relationship with God and others requires deliberate time for slowing down and for withdrawing from the frenzied patterns of life. This weekend we will explore these spiritual practices and ways of integrating them into our daily lives.

Often
There is a kind of life that God designed for us and Jesus modeled for us and yet few people live. This kind of life is a life in which you are linked to God in deep relationship. This was your legacy as those created in the image and likeness of God. It is a legacy lost through man's fall into sin and regained through the victory Christ won for us on the cross when he paid for our sins and rose again from the dead.

Gear for the Journey: Solitude
Part 7 of 8. Maundy Thursday Service. Jesus and his disciples went to the garden to pray and keep watch. Keeping watch is essentially praying with one eye on God and the other on the world to see what God will do next. This is where the practice of solitude comes in. We have to learn to shut off distractions, internal and external, in order to "keep watch" and see how God is working around us.
