A Picture of Perfect Love
In a world awash with faulty definitions of love, the definition that God has provided through the cross of Jesus is the standard that must inform our attempts to love others in truth.

Hebrews 1:1-4 The God Who has a Voice and Speaks is Not a Wooden Stick Made with Hands of Men
Who wrote the Letter to the Hebrews? Was it Paul, Apollos, Silas? What does it mean to speak in these "last days?" How is Jesus the exact imprint of God? This majestic letter to the Hebrews is a high treatment of Jesus our Savior.

Luke 15.11-32: Resurrection (Easter)
Thank God for Easter. It is on this day we remember the resurrection of Jesus. He suffered and died on the cross on Friday and was in the grave for three days. On the third day He raised from the grave. Today we thank for God for the resurrection. We are all in need of resurrection. To be resurrected is to be raised up. It is to be taken from one reality to a new reality. It is to be changed from the earthly to the heavenly. It is to be raised from life to death. We are all in need of this. Do you believe this?

Luke 15.11-19: Son or Slave
This week we look at the last of three parables. It is traditionally referred to as the parable of the prodigal son. If we are honest with ourselves we are all the prodigal. We all have eyes for the distant land. The question for us all is do we ever come home? The prodigal chose the distant land and therefore chose slavery. He gave up sonship. He finally wakes up to his situation and condition. He begins to realize what he has done. Thought he begins to change his change is simply to survive. He does not fully realize the nature of his sin. He has broken the heart of his father and denied sonship. He must be willing to receive his father's love and forgiveness. We must do the same.

In a practical sense, what does it mean to you to "honor your parents"? 2. Read Ecclesiastes 12. Why is it important to remember God when you are young? 3. Read Psalm 127. In what sense are children a "reward" from the Lord? Why is the person blessed whose "quiver" is full? 4. Do you agree that we are always called to honor our parents, even if we can't always obey them? How can this principle help us win our unbelieving parents who do not understand our faith in Christ? 5. Name three ways we can honor our parents after they have died. 6. If your parents are still living, take a moment and pray for them right now. If you have children, pray for them as well.

Prophet-able Correction
When the prophet Nathan rebukes David for his sin with Bathsheba, we are given a powerful reminder of our call as followers of Jesus Christ to admonish one another, in love, when a brother or sister strays.

Why, God, did you send your Son to earth?
What does Christmas mean for you? Presents? Time for the family? The Coca Cola Advert? Well for Christians it reminds us of Jesus coming to earth, God becoming a man. Why is this so special? In this talk Matt tells us from John 3:1-20 how all human beings are sinful, they go away from God's plan for their lives. However, Jesus was lifted up on a cross so that all who look to him shall not die but have eternal life.
