Sermons About Sovereignty
Defining Moments
Daniel 8 Defining Moments “But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets….” Daniel 2:28 “….the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.” Daniel 4:25 The validity of the messenger Matthew 24:14-15, “Therefore when you see…..as spoken of by the prophet Daniel…..” Daniel was a man that had integrity, wisdom, and approval from God, consequently we look carefully at what he writes. The sovereignty of God Daniel 1:2, 2:28,37, 4:25 He is the author of the message, the messenger, and the ultimate kingdom. God moves in times and ways of His own choosing. Man's Suffering - God's Sovereignty
In John 9 Jesus uses a man born blind in order to show the people His power. This man had been blind his whole life and was determined by God for this very purpose. Is that fair? Can God do that? Our sensibilities may be offended at the thought that God would not only allow, but cause such a situation. How do we view suffering in light of the presence of a loving God? This is one of the classic complaints of atheists and agnostics, that suffering demonstrates that God either does not exist or is not loving. If He was He would have to end all suffering. Is this really the case? What does the Bible say? What should our attitude be?

Ruth 3 - Proactive Righteousness
When we think about what it means to be righteous – we tend to think it means we don’t do bad things. We don’t cuss, don’t chew, don’t go with girls that do – righteousness = good behavior. Now the problem with this is that we only have half of the equation when it comes to “behaviorâ€. Righteous behavior involves more than not doing the wrong thing, it also involves doing the right thing. As we will see in Ruth 3 Naomi, Ruth and Boaz DO things and DO NOT do things for righteousness’ sake. And we are going to be challenged to look at righteousness a bit differently - to see that it is not merely avoiding sin, but actively seeking the well-being of others.

Do Not Fear, For God Has Willed...
Fear is like poison to faith. It weakens and eventually kills it. So how, in the face of the pressures of life, economic insecurity, and the potential of unfair treatment by those around, can we find the fortitude to remain faithful rather than fearful? What is the antidote if you will, to the poison of fear? Jesus' words to the church in Sardis give us three ingredients in the antidote for fear: Christ’s providence, Christ’s promises, and Christ’s person.
