Going Out and Moving On
Hans continues our final leg of our Acts series, this week challenging the Oaks Location to recognize spiritual warfare and combat it with the Gospel.
In the Crosshairs: The Devil
In this final message in the series "In the Crosshairs" Pastor Ron deals with the third member of the unholy trinity aligned against every believer. Having dealt with the world and the flesh this message deals with our supernatural struggle against Satan and his armies of demons.
Preparing for Battle
Closing the instructions to the Ephesian Christians, Paul instructs them to prepare for spiritual battle by taking on the whole armor of God. He explains the nature of the battle (spiritual) and demonstrates how Christ, the gospel, and the several graces we receive in Christ equip us to stand firm in the face of spiritual attack. We need to take heed to these words that we may be prepared in the Christian life to 'stand firm.'
In the Crosshairs: The Flesh
This message deals with the second of the three enemies of the soul: The Flesh. The struggle with the flesh represents the internal battle that goes on in the mind of each believer between the Holy Spirit and the "old man" or "sinful nature." Three strategies for winning the war with the flesh include run, renew your mind, and live under the control of the Holy Spirit.
In the Crosshairs: The World
In the first of 3 messages in this series entitled, "In the Crosshairs" Pastor Ron reminds believers that each of us acquired three enemies the moment he became a Christian: The World, the Flesh, and the Devil. This message deals with the first enemy, the World, and describes how the world attempts to destroy our witness and our effectiveness for the Kingdom, as well as how to avoid falling to its temptations.
Be A Good Soldier
The commission of the church given by Christ is to make disciples by teaching faithful men to obey everything He has commanded us (v. 2) who will in turn teach it to others. That's how Christ builds His church. He doesn't tell us to gather a crowd by tickling their ears of men with amazement or amusement but to teach them to obey everything the Lord has commanded us; hold to the Word; teach it to others ... and through our obedience the Lord accomplishes His eternal purposes.
Everybody Ought to Know: “The Christians and Temptations”
Temptation is not a sin. It's when you act on your temptations that it becomes sin. Learn how to guard yourself against temptation.
Spiritual Wrestling
Many of us are wrestling against spiritual powers and even things within ourselves that are preventing us from serving God. Each of us needs to win the spiritual battle. Once we know what we are battling against we need to fight until we prevail.
