Family Life
Preacher: Pastor Tony Simpson. Passage: Phillipians 4 vv1-3. It is a great privilege to be part of God's family but it also comes with responsibilities. We are called to stand firm together as we contend for the truth of the gospel. In order to do this we need a unity of purpose and so any disputes within the fellowship must be dealt with. This reconciliation is not always straightforward and so the leaders are called upon to ensure that the gospel of reconciliation is brought to bare on such disputes.
We Don't Bargain
Does what a person believe matter? I can assure you there are parents at Penn State who would say yes; what one man believed destroyed my kid's life. People in Boston would say yes. What 2 young men believed has devastated us. The Bible says: "As a man thinketh in his heart so is he." Proverbs 23:7 So what you believe not only matters to God it matters to man. That's why Paul is in prison. He said what the Greek culture teaches; what the Roman Empire demands; what my former Jewish colleagues embrace cannot be amalgamated into the church without severe damage being done from compromising divine truth with human error and for that Nero will cut off his head.
Standing Firm in the View of the Cross
Israel forgot that God's salvation is sovereign, surprising, and sustained. Despite their lack of confidence, Moses acts as God's servant to save these people. How can our view of God's salvation through His Son help us to stand firm?
Stand Firm!
As part of our "Philippians: the Pursuit of Joy" series, Chris Carr teaches "Stand Firm!" from Philippians 4:1-9
Round 2: The Belt of Truth
Round two of our series on Spiritual Warfare centers on Ephesians 6:14: “Stand firm, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist.” If we are to stand firm against the Deceiver, we must be prepared for, committed to, and fortified by truth. We are all vulnerable to personal deceptions and struggle with knowing and speaking truth. This message will help you understand the power of God’s Truth and assist you to stand firm in it.
Galatians 6B: The Gospel Rule
Paul wraps up his main theme by driving home the centrality of the cross to the Christian message. All that Christianity is points to and flows from what God has done for us in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. If you grab hold of the cross, and make it your single boast, all of life flows in worship to God and sacrificial love to others. This is the "rule" by which all true believers live!

Galatians 5A: Freed for Freedom
The glorious freedom given us in Christ is an established fact - we ARE free. Jesus has done all the work necessary to make us fully and completely free. But what is the freedom that we have? And what is our role in maintaining that freedom? And for what purpose has God set us free? These are the questions Paul begins to answer in the last 1/3 of Galatians. In this passage, he transitions from the theology of grace to how grace changes the way we live.

Standing Firm in God's Grace (1 Peter 5:12-14)
These last few verses in 1 Peter close out the letter encouraging the readers to stand firm in the true grace of God. As our final sermon on 1 Peter, we take a look back at the letter to remember what Peter is calling us to stand firm in as well as why we can have peace in Christ.
