Pastor Gary Combs continues the "Time to Thrive" series with this message from Mark 10 about the rich young ruler who asked, "What must I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus told him that he "lacked one thing." He needed to be fully committed, leaving everything behind to follow Jesus. This message asks us to consider whether there is any area of our lives that we haven't fully committed to Christ.
What if The Church talked about money? I suppose some may leave - but an even more dangerous thing might happen...hearts just might be set free to love Jesus. In this sermon we looked at three realities: 1) The way we talk about money and the way the New Testament talks about money is not the same, 2) The Church must teach on money, and 3) The Church must share our giving stories.
Today’s lesson will focus on examining what stewardship is all about: our desire for seeking first God’s kingdom. How we live our life, including all of our choices, come from the desires of our heart.

The mindset with which we give and with which we pray has a lot to do with whether our giving and prayers are pleasing to God and are in the mindset of Jesus.
Stewardship begins with trust: trusting God more than we trust ourselves in regard to our possessions and our needs. Jesus reminds us that God knows how to care for us, so that we can properly care for what He has given to us.
