From our text this morning we see two supernatural and theological ways that the Messiah would be identified correctly by John the Baptist. 1. The Messiah would be revealed through the proper God ordained methodology. 2. The Messiah would be revealed through the proper God ordained miracle.

Being Naturally Supernatural
To play off a quote of Mark Twain, the report of the death of signs and wonders has been greatly exaggerated. We are natural beings living in a natural world with a supernatural mission. That mission is to reach into the world of darkness and by the power of the Lord Almighty bring out those lost souls and make disciples of Jesus Christ of them. How can this be accomplished without the help of a supernatural God? This is a balanced, truthful message about operating in a realm in which God shows his power and might on our and others behalf.

Naturally Supernatural
Most of us are familiar with the old game of "Tag" from our elementary school days. We understand that once you've been tagged - you're "it" and it's up to you to tag others. Jesus Christ has "tagged" his church and given us the job of continuing His ministry on the earth. It's a tall order to fill. Most days, we hardly feel able to make it through a full day of getting our own things done, much less the ministry of Jesus! But Jesus hasn't left us alone to accomplish His work. He provides supernatural resources for those who trust and obey Him. He invites all of to be "naturally supernatural" people, as we follow Him.
