We all aspire to greatness and want to come out on top. Jesus' example of downward mobility revolutionizes our concept of getting to the top. Common sense says that a downward path will always lead to the bottom. But on the contrary, Jesus example of downward mobility landed him at the top, the very top. If this counter-intuitive plan to walk "up the down staircase" can work for the Son of God, can it work for us? Could the way to the top really be down?

Out of Control
Are you the kind of person that wants the steering wheel, must have the T.V. remote control, and have the final word on the restaurant? You know… needs to be in charge? Well, maybe you don’t have it that bad, but all of us, to a certain extent, like control. But, what happens when we discover our control is not working, our plans are failing and our resources are depleted? You may not believe it now, but that is a good place! Why? Because it is at that point God can get our attention. He has aplan, but God’s plan calls us to do what seems counter-intuitive… SURRENDER!
