Sermons about Surviving
Teenage life is a difficult one to go through and really is the foundational years of life. There are things that I’ve done in my teenage years that I wouldn’t remotely THINK of doing now. As a matter of fact, If I knew then what I know now, are some pretty famous words. And im positive that you will say those words as well. But decisions you make now can ultimately affect your life forever.
Pastor Chuck Swindoll once said that, “marriages need to be upgraded, refurbished, and restored from time to time.” That theme has inspired this series. Marriages are in trouble today. Christ followers have no assurances their unions won’t end in divorce. However, God’s Word applied by His people can achieve remarkable results. This is the introduction to our new teaching series, “Marriage: Surviving or Thriving.” This message looks at some simple definitions for surviving and thriving and at God’s intent for marriage as found in Genesis 1:27-28; 2:18 and 2:24-25. Also quoted in this message are excerpts from a New York Times article written by Hara Estroff Marano, May 28, 1997, entitled Rescuing Marriages Before They Begin, found on Smart Marriages ® The Coalition for Marriage, Family and Couples Education website (http://www.smartmarriages.com/marano.html) Thanks for listening, God bless and Grace 2 U.
