Do You Not Know?, Part 6
In 1 Corinthians 6:9-20, Paul asks a series of four questions in order to confront and correct the sexual immorality of the Corinthians. The problem with the Corinthian believers was that they didn’t really know the gospel and its implications for their lives, particularly in the matter of sexual immorality. So, Paul's four questions were intended to direct the Corinthians back to the gospel (and it implications), which alone has the power motivate them to flee sexual immorality (v. 18a) and to glorify God in their bodies (v. 20b). Paul's questions are based on the gospel-philosophy, “become what you are.”

Dealing with Temptation
We sin because we have a sinful nature and we give into temptation. The Genesis 3 account of the fall of Adam and Eve provides us with many practicel strategies for dealing with temptation. For example: "Stay away from the tree - If you can't reach it, you can't eat it". God has given us His Spirit to help us deal with temptation. As Christians we live with the hope of heaven where sin and temptation will no longer be issues we have to deal with.
Kenosis
Jesus Christ came to this earth all God, and all human. However, He put His godliness to the side to show us that as a human He could resist and overcome all temptation. Jesus wants us to know that we too can overcome; the task is easier for us now, because through Him we can do all.
The Power of Love
Ephesians 3:14-21 Call it an exercise in futility: we pray and plan, work, attend conferences, read books, establish accountability, and yet it seems like we never really change. We still keep giving in to the same temptations and in our hearts we know that our lives just aren't where we want them to be. The desire is there. But not the power. What are we missing?
