Doing Time (The Prison Test)
Sometimes we find ourselves in painful situations and trying conditions because of poor choices. But like Joseph, even when we do right, God will still often allow us to be tested severely and treated unfairly in order to build His character and perseverance in us. (adapted from Dream to Destiny)

The Test of Love
How do we know we have eternal life? Assurance is a great issue – how do we ever know for certain? Are we self-deceived/arrogant? Most religions say you can’t ever know. Even RC has purgatory, as a waiting room to see where you will go. Many true Christians struggle with assurance; can we really know? John has a number of tests for us to apply: Are we obedient – doing what God requires of us which we discover in the Bible? – that’s the first test. Are we walking in the light – ie in the truth of the gospel? That was the test as to whether we followed the spirit of antichrist or the Holy Spirit. Two more tests are here in ch 3 - 1st, the moral test, 1-10 and 2nd, the social test, 10-24

Genesis: 22 The Beginning of Hope in the Promises of God: A Life of Abraham
In today’s epic, we will see not only an incredible transformation of Abraham’s heart, but an incredible picture of God’s grace in our own lives. Abraham displays a great faith, but the hero of this story remains God, who gave him that great faith. Faith is so often mischaracterized as: the more faith you have the more change you will see. However Jesus said that all it takes is the faith of a mustard seed (Very small seed) to move mountains, the size of your faith is not the issue, but the one whom which you place it.

Abraham - led one step at the time
The Lord will lead us one step at a time. If we do not take the first step, He will not give us the second step, and on and on and on like that. We have to take the step directly in front of us. Some steps are tests, if we don’t pass the test, we don’t get to move on to the next step. We don’t get the next direction until we pass the test.

Rejoice with Joy Unspeakable / Stay in the boat.
The faith of many is being tested right now. We need to rejoice, because the testing of our faith is good for us. It means there’s something the enemy is trying to keep us from. It helps strengthen us. Those who are not being tested need to be agreeing with those who are that they will receive that for which they are believing. We need to stay in joy. God will come though for us. Stay in faith. Stay in the boat, in joy. Joy is the boat. There’s no triumph without a trial, no victory without a battle. But the battle is the Lord’s. Don’t give up, you’re almost there.

Test Yourself
The Apostle Paul encourages the Galatians to test their work so that their boasting will be in themselves. As we enter into the new year and into a time of communion with our lord, it is an excellent time to put ourselves to the test. But the heart his more deceitful than all else. How can we accurately judge ourselves before God and make a plan for improvement.

The Joy of the Journey Comes by Understanding Responsibilities
Christ followers have the responibility according to Scripture to bring God a tenth of their income, which is the original standard of giving established by God. The New Testament takes our responsibility of giving to God to a higher level. God gives us the opportunity to "test-drive" the program He has instituted because He promises blessings as we give, but we must keep things in the proper perspective.

The Moriah Test
Pastor Larry Sundin continues in the series "Soaking in the Gospel". Larry takes us back to the story of Abraham and his test of faith on Mount Moriah. We see that God's way for us is often lonely and hard, but that in the end God provides. Pastor Larry reveals how this picture of a sacrifice is ultimately a preview to the culmination of the gospel in God's provision for us in Jesus Christ.

Christ Followers Need A Heart Test
Today's message focuses on the importance of obedience to the biblical instruction of tithing and generous giving. As we begin this New Year, it is important to note your generosity and how incredibly blessed we are because of it. The MCCh budget is developed by the Elders, Pastors, Stewardship Team and Team Leaders by carefully discerning God's vision and priorities for this year and has been approved at $16,799 weekly. Meeting this financial responsibility will be a joy mixed with great opportunity as we listen to the heart of God. Pastor Mel
